Matthew’s 22:37-40

Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

To me as a Christian, if I can follow those simple words the rest of the 8 commandments fall into place.

At a recent July one-to-one coaching session, a CEO member talked about listening to a radio talk show that said, culture then becomes:

“Taking care and respect your customers, Taking care and respect your co-workers”

I have seen dozens if not hundreds of boards, plaques; attended several speaker workshops and articles trying to define culture. Next time you have a leadership meeting, hand out a blank piece of paper and have your leadership team hand write your company’s culture. My guess is you will be disappointed. If your leadership team is embarrassed, so should you be in that you have make this simple set of values too difficult. To me this is a great time to follow “less is more”. If you team was able to please you, congratulations, you are on the road to a very successful journey.

Have a great day and continued successes,
